Whether you’ve recently joined the Media Monitoring Platform or just need to look something up, this FAQ will guide you.

It’s a service for authorized users to track, analyse and measure media performance in sources and on topics of interest to the ECB and its various divisions

When you’re on the ECB network you will automatically be logged in. Just go to the Platform.

Check your onboarding email or contact your Portal administrator if you need assistance.

All you need is internet connectivity and a device of your choice. 

If you’re off the ECB network the platform works with any modern web browser (latest versions of Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox have been tested – but Safari, Opera etc will also work).

You are assigned a User Role, and to know which one you’ve been assigned with check your onboarding email or contact your Platform Administrator

You can view, search, filter, read, sort and share media items and content on both the Curated and Non-curated sections of the Portal.

Create reports is a quick way to sum up and share your media mentions or relevant news stories.

You can export articles to a report either from Categories or articles you have tagged. From the main menu, select the category(ies) or tag(s) you want to include in your report and click on Create report in the action bar.

Next, follow these steps:

  • Select time period
  • Select format
  • Use drag and drop to change the order of the articles, if needed
  • Click the pen if you need to edit text in the articles
  • Name the report
  • Click Create
  • Download or share with your team

You can access all your reports via the notification menu in the right top hand corner.

You can easily get updates on news stories that are relevant to you, and your team, by creating an alert.

The first time you create an alert, click Create Alert in the action bar. Existing alerts are listed under Alerts in the main menu. If you already have active alerts you can add a new alert by clicking on the plus icon in the main menu.

Next, follow these steps:

  • Fill in the name of the alert. This name will be visible in the subject line of the email alert and in the main menu
  • Add the categories or tags you want to receive alerts from
  • Fill in the your email or other recipient’s email address.
  • Choose file format for email newsletter. HTML is the preferred format
  • Select email newsletter layout. The ECB news alert layout is recommended
  • Schedule the alert. Default is Mon-Fri at 08.00
  • Click Save
  • Your alerts will be delivered as an email

When you want to monitor a specific topic or focus area you can create personalized Profile(s). As a General User you can create a profile based on keywords selected by you. When your keywords are mentioned in articles captured by the Curated and Non-Curated categories you will find those in your own profile(s). Making it easy for you to follow what’s happening within your focus area.

  • To set up a new profile go to My Briefcase and click on the plus icon
  • Name your Profile
  • To select which content to monitor click on Filters and select from Non-curated and Curated articles, or Tags. If you are an Advanced user or Admin you can search in all content.
  • Click on Advanced and enter any keywords you want to monitor. If you want to monitor a generic keyword or narrow down your search you can also exclude keywords.
  • When you are done click Save

Your personal profile(s) are found in the main menu. You can easily edit or delete your searches.

If you need a summary or PDF of an article from the Curated and Non-Curated section of the Portal, you can send a request.

In the article list on the right-hand side there is a Request button at the top right corner for each article. Click Request of the article you want to request a summary or PDF of a print article.
